Great News: Comfort, Mobility, Medical Supplies, and Humane Education Reaching Animals Near and Far

This week’s Great News is a beautiful reminder that no act of compassion is too big or too small when animals need help.

Helping Pepe Move With More Comfort

When OBOL learned that Koren Michelle Saenz-Mosquera was looking for a wheelchair for her beloved Pepe, we were so happy to be able to pass one along.

For animals with mobility challenges, the right support can make a meaningful difference in their daily comfort, confidence, and quality of life. Because of this act of generosity, Pepe now has help moving around more comfortably and enjoying more independence.

It is a simple but powerful example of what community care can do for one animal and one loving family.

Food and Blankets for Sky and Cloud

Veronica Sanchez of Legacy of Love 805 Rescue shared her thanks to OBOL, Eileen, and Brad for the food and blanket donations provided for Sky and Cloud, two sibling pups found severely malnourished and in desperate need of care.

For animals recovering from neglect, food and comfort items are part of the healing process. A warm blanket, steady nutrition, and the care of a dedicated rescue can help animals begin to feel safe again.

Sky and Cloud’s journey is just beginning, and we are honored to help support their recovery.

Veterinary Supplies and Tick Medication Sent to Cuba

OBOL’s impact also reached Cuba, where veterinary supplies and tick medication made their way to animals and caregivers in need.

Access to basic veterinary supplies can be limited in many communities, which makes donated items especially valuable. Supplies like medication, care tools, and comfort items help local animal advocates provide better support for the animals they serve.

Every donation that moves through OBOL has the potential to reach farther than expected and help animals who may otherwise go without care.

Humane Education at a Spay and Neuter Event in Tijuana

OBOL’s mission also includes education, because helping animals means teaching future generations how to care for them.

At a successful spay and neuter event in Tijuana, Mexico, Ana DeTommaso shared OBOL’s informative coloring book about pet care and responsibility with children who came with their parents and pets. The event provided 90 spay and neuter procedures and created a meaningful opportunity to teach children about compassion, responsible pet ownership, and animal welfare.

Moments like this help plant seeds of kindness early.

When children learn how to care for animals, they become part of the long-term solution.
