OBOL x Love Always Sanctuary
This week, our friends at Love Always Sanctuary shared a beautiful moment of gratitude — and it involved a whole lot of happy chickens!
Chef Nickie Mingarelli took to Instagram to thank OBOL for our continued support, describing how the sanctuary’s rescued birds “were over the moon” after receiving bags filled with seeds and nuts. Watching them scratch, peck, and chatter with joy reminded everyone that compassion can change lives.
We’ve been proud to support Love Always Sanctuary for years, providing comfort and supplies that make everyday care easier for their rescued residents. Seeing these small acts bring big joy is what keeps our mission thriving.
Standing Strong with LA Fire Relief Partners
As wildfires continue to impact Southern California communities, OBOL stepped in once again to deliver vital pet supplies to those affected.
In collaboration with the LA Strong Foundation and Frontline Relief USA, OBOL helped distribute emergency pet food, bedding, and comfort items to families and animals displaced in Altadena and Pasadena.
These partnerships embody the best of what’s possible when organizations unite for a shared cause — ensuring that no pet is left behind in times of crisis. Together, we’re helping people and pets rebuild their lives, one donation at a time.
Eileen Visits Big Heart Ranch
Our founder, Eileen Smulson, made a special visit to Big Heart Ranch, where she met some new furry and feathered friends — and, of course, came bearing OBOL goodies for the sanctuary’s beloved animals!
The visit was a heartwarming reminder of how community partnerships keep compassion alive. Thank you, Big Heart Ranch, for all you do to nurture rescued animals and inspire kindness through education and care.
Urgent Call for the Desert Dogs
Not all our stories are easy ones — but they’re all worth fighting for.
Thanks to @mari_rotella_, we’ve been able to provide supplies for a group of incredibly friendly desert dogs in urgent need of help. These eight dogs — plus a few new puppies — have lost their safe land and now face the risk of being separated and sent to shelters.
OBOL’s team, led by Brad, quickly delivered food and supplies to support them through this critical time. But this rescue still needs land, partners, and a permanent solution. 🐕
