When we focus our efforts on a specific need, something powerful happens. FOOD-A-THON is our community-wide food fundraiser supporting local rescues, shelters, and pets of families in crisis. During our last Food-A-Thon, thousands of dollars worth of food was donated directly to 50 rescues who needed it most, proof that targeted, direct relief truly saves lives.
That impact is being felt every day. In December alone, Soulful Dog Rescue, led by the incredible Bonnie LaPierre, helped rescue and rehome 30 dogs from Los Angeles Animal Services, dogs who were down to their final hours. Thanks in part to OBOL’s immediate food and supply support, every bowl filled meant one less life lost, and one more chance at a forever home.

We’re also inspired by the next generation of animal advocates stepping up. Recently, a young volunteer organized his own pet supply drive, collecting cash and filling two carloads with food and essentials for animals in need. It’s a beautiful reminder that compassion multiplies when communities come together and that anyone can make a difference.
How to Participate
Your financial donation allows us to quickly purchase and deliver food where it’s needed most, exactly when it’s needed. And if you’re feeling inspired, we also encourage you to host your own supply drive in your neighborhood, school, or workplace. A simple way to turn kindness into immediate relief for animals in crisis. Together, we can make sure no rescue has to face an empty shelf or an empty bowl.
