A K-9 Honor That Belongs to You
We are deeply honored to receive an official recognition award from the Los Angeles County Probation Department K-9 Unit, acknowledging OBOL’s many years of service and support. This meaningful honor reflects the far-reaching impact of your generosity — extending not only to rescues and shelters, but also to the hardworking dogs who protect and serve our communities every day. Supporting active and retired K-9s with comfort items like Kuranda beds is one more way we ensure these heroes receive the care they deserve.
Lifesaving Partnerships in Motion
Across California and beyond, your support continues to move animals toward brighter futures. In partnership with the City of Bakersfield Animal Care Center, BARC’s Rescue, Wings of Rescue, and dedicated community partners, 44 dogs recently boarded a lifesaving flight to Canada, where they are now headed to foster-to-adopt homes. These flights don’t happen without teamwork — from medical care and transport to blankets, beds, and supplies that keep animals safe and comfortable along the way. We are proud to stand alongside partners who never give up on animals in need.
Meet Marshmallow — and the Many Like Him
Marshmallow’s story is one we wish were rare, but sadly, it isn’t. Found maimed, discarded, and left alone on the streets, this sweet pup’s future was uncertain until a local rescuer acted quickly, bringing him directly to Brad at OBOL for immediate relief, love, and comfort supplies. Today, Marshmallow has a second chance — because you made it possible.
But Marshmallow is not alone.
Every year, OBOL receives urgent requests from rescuers who find animals hit by cars, abused, abandoned, or born with mobility challenges. Many cannot walk, stand, or move without pain. For these animals, mobility equipment is not a luxury — it is a lifeline.
Thanks to your support, OBOL provides:
- Pet wheelchairs for dogs who have lost the use of their legs
- Strollers for animals unable to walk long distances
- Carriers and transport aids for critical vet visits
- Soft bedding and recovery supplies to ease pain and promote healing
These tools don’t just improve comfort — they give animals a chance to survive, heal, and thrive.
