OBOL has been in touch with fellow animal lover and Trona resident Chavela Padilla since the devastating July 4th and 5th earthquakes in the Ridgecrest, California, area.
The 6.4 and 7.1 magnitude earthquakes, and the 1000+ subsequent aftershocks, have left many desert residents without power or water in the midst of California summer heat. This has forced several people, along with their children and pets, into emergency evacuation shelters. Some pet owners are still waiting to be reunited with their pets.
Trona Animals & Residents Urgently Need Your Help!
Chavela has been working tirelessly all weekend to assist displaced people and their animals. She contacted OBOL with an urgent request for pet food, crates, leashes and other care supplies. Early Sunday morning, OBOL answered that call by providing volunteer transporter Tammy Alleman with a van full of these much-needed items.
The need has only continued to grow. Today our Director of Operations Brad Smulson will be making another trip to the Ridgecrest area with an even bigger batch of emergency relief supplies.
